East Garston does not have a Post Office service. Nearest Post Offices are below.

Lambourn Post Office inside the Co-op is open 6:00am to 10:00pm Monday to Saturday and 7.00am to 10.00pm Sunday.

Great Shefford Post Office is open 9:00am to 17:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 12:30pm on Saturday

There are two post boxes in the village; by the village hall ( Last Collection time 4:15pm Mon-Fri; 9:30am Sat; No collection Sunday) and on the eastern section of Front Street (Last Collection time 9:00 am Mon-Fri; 7:00am Sat; No collection Sunday).

Priscillas Kitchen is a popular Coffee Shop based in the old shop in the Village Hall Car Park. They are normally open Wednesday to Saturday  10.00am to 3.00pm, serving delicious homemade cakes and light lunches.

Refuse Collection

The normal day for refuse and recycling collection is Tuesday. (except for College Way where collections are on Thursday by a lightweight vehicle).
From 22nd September 2025 black bin collections will take place every three weeks. Recycling collectons will be very two weeks and food waste collections every week. See here for updated details.

There is a mini recycling centre opposite the Queens Arms.

Great Shefford has a village shop and post office and Lambourn has a selection of shops including a chemist, Co-op, hardware store, post office, butchers, bakery, hairdressers, estate agents and several takeaways.

Transport

Bus Number 4 runs from Lambourn to Newbury.

There is a weekly service to Wantage, on Wednesdays, leaving East Garston at 9:15 am from the Village Hall.

Nearest fuel is at Great Shefford or Hungerford.
